Free transport for kids during July

Transport for Ireland have announced a bit of good news for families — for most of July 2019, children can use any Leap Card-enabled transport service in Dublin (or Ireland for that matter!).

From 1-28 July, kids can use their Child Leap Cards as normal, but won’t be charged. Any Child Leap Card (4-15 or 16-18) can be used, provided it has at least 1 cent Travel Credit.

In Dublin, services that can be used as part of the promotion include:

  • All Dublin Bus scheduled services (excluding Airlink and Nitelink)

  • All Luas services

  • All rail services in Dublin’s “Short Hop Zone” and on the Cork to Cobh/Midleton train lines

  • Ashbourne Connect

  • Bus Éireann services where TFI Leap Card Validators are available.
