3 new Dublin Bus routes to launch on 16 October 2022
The fourth phase of the BusConnects network redesign programme will see the launch of three new bus routes for Dublin on Sunday 16th October 2022. The new ‘G-Spine’ routes are to be operated by Dublin Bus.
The new routes are:
G1: Red Cow Luas – Ballyfermot – City centre – Spencer Dock
G2: Liffey Valley SC – Ballyfermot – City centre – Spencer Dock
Route 60: Red Cow Luas – Clondalkin – Cherry Orchard – Ballyfermot – Decies Rd – Islandbridge – City centre – Sir John Rogerson’s Quay
The G1 and G2 will both operate as 24-hour services, bringing the total number of 24-hour Dublin Bus services to 10 routes.
The approximate frequencies for the G1 and G2 routes are:
Weekdays:
06:00 – 22:00 — Every 10 – 15 minutes
22:00 – 00:00 — Every 30 mins
00:00 – 05:00 — Every 60 mins
05:00 – 06:00 — Every 30 mins
Saturdays:
07:00 – 23:00 — Every 15 – 20 minutes
23:00 – 00:00 — Every 30 mins
00:00 – 05:00 — Every 60 mins
05:00 – 07:00 — Every 30 mins
Sundays and Bank Holidays:
08:00 – 10:00 — Every 30 mins
10:00 – 19:00 — Every 10 – 15 minutes
19:00 – 00:00 — Every 30 mins
00:00 – 08:00 — Every 60 mins
Route 60 will run every 60 minutes every day with additional peak journeys during school term and for both the morning and evening peak travel times, between Cherry Orchard and the City centre.
As a result of the new routes, the 79 and 79a routes will be removed, with significant timetable changes for routes 40, 13 and 40d.
