20% decrease on fares for LUAS, Dublin Bus and DART services

The cost of using Dublin public transport is set to reduce by an average of 20% from May 2022.

The reductions are part of a broader government initiative to decrease public transport fares across the whole Transport For Ireland network.

In the Greater Dublin Area, fare reductions will be implemented on Dublin Bus, LUAS, DART, Go Ahead Ireland and train services.

Some of the fare changes include:

  • A reduction from €1.60 to €1.30 for short adult Leap fares on journeys up to 3km on Dublin Bus and Luas services.

  • The 90 minute adult Leap fare will reduce from €2.50 to €2.00.

  • The 90 minute Leap fare for young adults will cost €1.00.

  • All cash single fares will be reduced by 20% on Dublin Bus, LUAS and DART services.

  • The flat rate Leap fare for children will reduce from 80 cent to 65 cent.

  • Annual and monthly Taxsaver tickets will decrease by approximately 20%.

  • Taxsaver tickets purchased prior to the implementation of the reductions will be extended by an additional 3 months.
