College Green and Dame Street closed to all vehicle traffic for Summer Sunday event on 7th August

College Green and Dame Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 7am to 7pm on Sunday 7th August due to Dublin City Council’s ‘Summer Sunday’ event.

The road closure will include the area from College green to the junction of South Great George’s Street.

Luas trams will operate as normal and Green Line Luas stops in the vicinity of the event will all be in use.

Diversions will be in place for some Dublin Bus routes that operate in the area. Westbound buses will be diverted to the South Quays and Eastbound buses will de diverted via Parliament Street.

The free ‘Summer Sunday’ event takes place from 12pm to 4pm and will include carnival performers, face-painting, circus workshops and an antique carousel ride.

Dublin Lord Mayor, Caroline Conroy says that the event “will be an unmissable occasion to see and appreciate College Green and Dame Street in a whole new light with no traffic”.
