Public transport in Dublin for October Bank Holiday Weekend 2023

Read on to get a full roundup of arrangements for Dublin public transport services this October Bank Holiday weekend.

Buses

Nitelink services will be available on Friday 27 October and Saturday 28 October 2023.

On Sunday 29th October, diversions will be in place on a number of Dublin Bus routes due to the Dublin City Marathon 2023. A full list of diversions can be found on the Dublin Bus website.

On Bank Holiday Monday 30th October 2023, all Dublin Bus services will operate to a Sunday timetable.

Luas Trams

On Sunday 29th October, a partial line closure will be in effect on the Luas Red Line between approximately 8.45am and 10.45 am due to the Dublin City Marathon. During these times, no Luas services will operate between Heuston and Connolly / The Point stops.

On Bank Holiday Monday 30th October, Luas trams will run to Sunday operating hours and frequency.

Green Line Hours — Bank Holiday Monday 30th October

  • From Brides Glen: first tram at 07:00; last tram at 23:00

  • From Sandyford (Northbound): first tram at 07:18; last tram at 23:18

  • From St. Stephen’s Green (Northbound): first tram at 07:40 ; last tram at 23:38

  • From Broombridge (Southbound): first tram at 07:00 ; last tram at 23:16

  • From St. Stephen’s Green (Southbound): first tram at 07:27; last tram at 23:43

  • From Sandyford (Southbound): first tram at 06:57; last tram at 00:04

Red Line Hours — Bank Holiday Monday 30th October

  • From Tallaght: first tram at 07:00; last tram at 23:00

  • From Saggart: first tram at 07:12; last tram at 22:52

  • From Connolly: first tram at 15:00; last tram at 18:50

  • From The Point: first tram at 07:00; last tram at 23:30

Both Red and Green Luas lines will run as normal from first tram on Tuesday 31st October 2023.

Trains

On Saturday 28th October, Sunday 29th October and Bank Holiday Monday 30th October 2023, there will be no DART services between Connolly and Howth/Malahide due to planned engineering works.

Across the Bank Holiday weekend, DART trains will operate between Dublin Connolly and Bray / Greystones stations only.

During the works, the following stations will be closed:

  • Howth

  • Sutton

  • Bayside

  • Malahide

  • Portmarnock

  • Clongriffen

  • Howth Junction & Donaghmede

  • Kilbarrack

  • Raheny

  • Harmonstown

  • Killester

  • Clontarf Road

Dublin Bus will accept valid rail tickets in the affected areas.
