Eight new bus routes to be launched for Dublin on 26th November 2023

The BusConnects Network Redesign enters its 5b phase on November 26, introducing eight new Southern Orbital, Radial, and Local bus routes in South Dublin.

  • S4: Connecting Liffey Valley Shopping Centre with Ballyfermot, Crumlin Hospital, Terenure, and UCD.

  • S6: Connecting Tallaght with Rathfarnham Shopping Centre, UCD, and Blackrock Station.

Frequency

During peak hours, most S and W Orbitals operate every 10-20 minutes, with this frequency largely maintained during weekends, except for the S8 which runs every 30 minutes. On weekdays, the L25 service runs every 15 minutes, whereas the L55 operates hourly. Additionally, Route 74 consistently runs every 30 minutes, both on weekdays and weekends.

Changes to Existing Routes

With the introduction of these new routes, there will be some changes to the existing network. The current Route 61 operated by Dublin Bus and Routes 17, 18, 75/a, 76/a, and 175 operated by Go-Ahead Ireland will be discontinued.

You can learn more about timetables and route maps for these new bus routes on the Transport For Ireland website.
