Three new orbital bus routes for Dublin and Kildare to launch on 25 June 2023

As part of the BusConnects network redesign programme, three new inter-suburban bus routes are to launch in Dublin and Kildare on 25 June 2023.

The three new routes are the W4, W61 and W62, and they will be operated by Go-Ahead Ireland on behalf of Transport for Ireland.

  • W4 route: The Square, Tallaght - Grange Castle Business Park - Liffey Valley Shopping Centre - Blanchardstown Shopping Centre

  • W61 route: Hazelhatch Station - Celbridge Main St - Salesian College - Maynooth Station - Maynooth Community College

  • W62 route: Newcastle - Saggart - Greenogue Industrial Estate - Citywest Road - The Square, Tallaght

The W4 route will connect with several other bus routes at the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, including the C1, C2, C3 and C4 routes. It will also connect with the C1 and C2 routes along grange Castle Road in Lucan; the N4 orbital route at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre; the Red Line Luas at Tallaght and Kingswood; and commuter rail services at New Kishogue station.

The W61 route will connect with the C3 and C4 routes at Maynooth station, also connecting with the C4 route in Celbridge, and Irish Rail services at Maynooth, Hazelhatch and Celbridge stations.

The W62 route will connect with Red Line Luas services at Tallaght, Fettercairn, Citywest Campus and Saggart.

The W61 and W62 routes will eventually be joined together upon completion of road network improvements in the Hazelhatch area.
