Phase 6a of BusConnects will launch on January 26th 2025
On January 26th, 2025, Dublin's bus network will see significant improvements with the launch of Phase 6a of the BusConnects Network Redesign. This phase introduces new routes, 24-hour services and adjustments to existing connections, aiming to enhance public transport accessibility across Dublin and nearby areas.
The E-Spine is at the heart of Phase 6a, featuring two new routes that will operate 24/7:
E1: Connecting Northwood, DCU, the City Centre, Bray and Ballywaltrim.
E2: Linking Harristown, DCU, the City Centre and Dún Laoghaire.
These routes promise more reliable and frequent services for commuters, with round-the-clock access to key destinations.
A range of local routes will enhance connectivity to surrounding areas, including:
L1, L2, and L3: Linking Bray, Greystones and Newcastle.
L12, L14, and L15: Focused on local travel within Bray and nearby suburbs.
L26 and L27: Serving Kilternan, Cornelscourt, Blackrock and Dún Laoghaire.
Additionally, two new express routes will provide faster connections to Dublin City Centre:
X1: Kilcoole – Greystones – City Centre (Hawkins Street).
X2: Newcastle – Kilcoole – Greystones – Brides Glen – City Centre (Hawkins Street).
The new Route 19 will initially operate during peak hours between Parnell Square and Merrion Square, with plans to expand to all-day service by April 2025.
Several existing routes, including the 46a, 84, and 145, will be discontinued, while others, such as Routes 4, 11, and 13, will be modified to serve different areas.
