Luas Christmas travel arrangements (2024)

Luas has announced its service arrangements for the Christmas season — they are listed below. As always, we advise using a Dublin journey planner before travelling however, to ensure you have the most up-to-date information.

Night Luas services

Additional late-night trams will operate on both the Red and Green Lines on the following dates:

  • Friday, 13 December

  • Saturday, 14 December

  • Friday, 20 December

  • Saturday, 21 December

  • Tuesday, 31 December (New Year's Eve)

These services will run in both directions, stopping at all stations. However, the final Night Luas trams will depart only westbound from The Point on the Red Line and southbound from Broombridge on the Green Line.

Red Line Night Services

  • Westbound (The Point to Tallaght): Departures at 01:00, 02:00, and 03:00.

  • Westbound (The Point to Saggart): Departures at 01:30 and 02:30.

  • Eastbound (Tallaght to The Point): Departures at 01:00 and 02:00.

  • Eastbound (Saggart to The Point): Departures at 00:30 and 01:30.

Green Line Night Services

  • Northbound (Brides Glen to Broombridge): Trams every 30 minutes from 00:20 to 02:50.

  • Southbound (Broombridge to Brides Glen): Trams every 30 minutes from 00:36 to 03:06.

Christmas Eve – Tuesday, 24 December 2024

  • Services will conclude at 20:00.

    • First and Last Trams:

      • Tallaght Eastbound: 05:30 – 20:00

      • Saggart Eastbound: 05:42 – 19:52

      • The Point Westbound: 05:30 – 20:00

      • Brides Glen Northbound: 05:30 – 20:00

      • Broombridge Southbound: 05:30 – 20:00

Christmas Day – Wednesday, 25 December 2024

  • No Luas services will operate.

St. Stephen’s Day – Thursday, 26 December 2024

  • Services will commence at 09:00, operating with Sunday schedules and frequencies.

    • First and Last Trams:

      • Tallaght Eastbound: 09:00 – 23:00

      • Saggart Eastbound: 09:05 – 22:51

      • The Point Westbound: 09:00 – 23:30

      • Brides Glen Northbound: 09:00 – 23:00

      • Broombridge Southbound: 09:00 – 23:17

Friday, 27 December; Saturday, 28 December; and Monday, 30 December 2024

  • Services will follow Saturday operating hours and frequencies.

    • First and Last Trams:

      • Tallaght Eastbound: 06:30 – 00:00

      • Saggart Eastbound: 06:42 – 23:52

      • The Point Westbound: 06:30 – 00:30

      • Brides Glen Northbound: 06:30 – 00:00

Sunday, 29 December 2024

  • Services will operate on Sunday schedules and frequencies.

    • First and Last Trams:

      • Saggart Eastbound: 07:12 – 22:51

      • The Point Westbound: 07:00 – 23:30

      • Brides Glen Northbound: 07:00 – 23:00

      • Broombridge Southbound: 07:00 – 23:17

New Year’s Eve – Tuesday, 31 December 2024

  • Services will follow Saturday operating hours and frequencies, with additional Night Luas services as detailed above.

      • The Point Westbound (to Tallaght): 06:30 – 00:30
