A new set of direct bus services now connects Heuston Station with University College Dublin (UCD), offering 45 trips per day during peak hours. These additional routes are part of the Xpresso network, providing faster connections for commuters.
The new services operate on seven routes: X25, X26, X27, X28, X30, X31 and X32. Morning departures begin at 6:40 am, with 25 buses running towards UCD, while the return services start at 4:12 pm, with 20 trips from Belfield back to Heuston.
These routes serve areas including Maynooth, Celbridge, Leixlip and Adamstown. Some existing Xpresso routes that already reached UCD will now also stop at Heuston Station, while others have been extended beyond the city center to serve the university.
For travel between Heuston and UCD outside peak times, alternative options include Dublin Bus routes 4, C1, C2, C3, C4, 52, and 60, with connections to services like the E1. The Luas Red Line also offers transport links from Heuston to the city, where onward bus services to UCD are available.
Timetables and journey planning tools are available on the Dublin Bus website and through the TFI Live App.
